The working group "Macroeconomic Sustainability Assessment" (MSA) investigates the role of sectors in economic development of countries.
We apply network-theoretical instruments on multiregional input-output data (as, e. g., Global Trade Analysis Project).
Having observed increasing share of emissions/energy/resource use is largely driven by manufacturing sectors in the past, key questions for developing countries are: Is leapfrogging possible? And how? What is the optimal level of physical capital accumulation?
MSA is part of the CRC 1026 "Sustainable Manufacturing".
